Regen School Wales mentors are running or have run their own successful community projects or enterprises. Typically they have worked in and supported regeneration and the community or voluntary sector in Wales or elsewhere for between ten and twenty years.
Mentors are like sherpas - when you're climbing the regeneration mountain, they can help you find the quickest, safest paths because they've been along the route before, know where the pitfalls are and how to avoid them.
They know who the funders are, how the system works and how to get through the red tape in the shortest time possible. They can point you in the right direction and tell you how to deal with the problems that arise as you work to turn a dream into reality.
Whether it's finding premises, employing staff, enthusing the local community, getting to grips with management or even coping with the consequences of projects that become successful too quickly, they've been there, done that and got the T-shirt.
Mentors are paid for their support and the money they earn goes back to their projects, helping towards running costs and long term sustainability.
We always try to match the most suitable mentor to a project.
